Weldon Kirui of Kenya pulled away late and won the Los Angeles Marathon in 2 hours 13 minutes 7 seconds. Kirui finished second in 2012 and fourth in 2013.

Kenyan men swept the top three spots, with Willie Koitile finishing second, in 2:13:24, and Daniel Limo, the defending champion, third in 2:13:52.

Nataliya Lehonkova of Ukraine won the women’s race in 2:30:40. Serkalem Abrha of Ethiopia finished second in 2:32:24, with Julia Budniak of Poland third at 2:44:44.
